Is research in ICTD (Information and Communication Technologies and Development) too much about researchers doing research to impress other researchers, and too little about finding out anything useful?  That question was at the heart of the workshop "Researching for Change in a Globalising Asymmetric World" held yesterday as part of the  Critical Alternatives Conference.

Dadamac matters because we aren't just helping individual people and projects, we're building a system that addresses much wider issues, and pulls things together. We're concerned with long-term issues around international development, UK-Africa connections, how we communicate effectively with each other, and how we collaborate to build a better world.
